These terms govern your use of PaintStreak (“the app”), operated by Fletcher Digital Ltd (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old. You’re responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure, since sign-in uses a code sent to your email. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.
These rules apply to everything you put into PaintStreak — photos, the captions you write on them, your display name, session notes, project and challenge names, and anything else you type or upload.
You must not upload, write, share or transmit anything that:
Painted miniatures depicting fantasy themes are permitted hobby content: sculpted nudity on a figurine, painted blood effects and grimdark battle damage are all fine. The line is real people and real harm.
Every photo is automatically screened before it is stored, and captions are automatically screened before anyone else can see them. Content that fails is refused at that point and never stored.
Be clear about what this is and isn’t. It is an automated check, not a person reading everything, and no automated check catches everything. We do not pre-approve content by hand and we do not promise that everything you see on PaintStreak has been reviewed by a human. That is exactly why reporting matters — if you see something that breaks these rules, report it.
Most breaches of these terms get a proportionate response — content removed, a temporary suspension, a warning. The following do not. There is no warning, no strike count and no second chance. Where we find them, we will ban the account permanently and immediately, without notice, on the first instance:
We do not have to establish what you intended, we will not debate context with you, and we are not obliged to tell you which rule you broke or how it was detected — explaining that precisely is a manual for the next person trying to get around it.
Content in the first category above is also reported to the Internet Watch Foundation or the police, and the associated account records are preserved for them. See Illegal content below.
Creating another account after a ban is itself a breach. We record technical information, including IP addresses, specifically so that we can identify ban evasion, and a new account we believe belongs to a banned user will be removed.
You keep ownership of the photos and content you create — including your palettes, paint recipes and projects. You grant us a limited licence to store and display your content within the app so we can provide the service to you: showing your photos in your own progress diary, showing your display name and progress to people in a challenge you have joined, and — only for the photos you have chosen to share — showing that photo and its caption to the friends you have accepted. The licence goes no further than running the app for you. We don’t claim ownership of your work, we don’t use it to advertise, and we don’t license it to anyone else.
When you upload something, you confirm that it’s yours to upload — that you took the photo or otherwise have the right to use it, and that sharing it with us doesn’t breach anyone else’s rights or the law.
If somebody brings a claim against us because you deliberately or carelessly broke these terms, or because of something unlawful you did on PaintStreak, you agree to cover the costs we reasonably and necessarily incur in dealing with it.
Three limits on that, which we hold ourselves to. We will tell you about the claim promptly and give you a genuine opportunity to be involved in how it is handled. We will take reasonable steps to keep the costs down. And it never applies to an honest mistake on your part, or to anything caused by our own fault. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
PaintStreak has social features. When you add friends, they can see your display name, streak figures and a feed of your recent painting activity. When you join a challenge, the other participants can see your display name and your progress in it — and a challenge may include people who aren’t your own friends.
Nobody can add you to a challenge without you accepting an invitation, you can leave a challenge at any time, and you can block anyone you’d rather not interact with. Don’t use challenges, display names or activity to harass anyone.
Your photos are private by default. Nobody else can see a photo you upload unless you turn sharing on for that particular photo. There is no setting that shares everything, and there is no public feed — a shared photo is visible only to friends whose requests you have accepted, and only for as long as you leave it shared. Turning sharing off for a photo removes it from your friends’ view, and deleting the photo removes it entirely.
You can write a short caption on a photo you share. A caption is text other people read, so the acceptable-use rules above apply to it in full, and captions are automatically screened before anyone else can see them.
You can mark a shared photo as containing gore or sculpted nudity, so your friends see a warning and choose whether to look. That marking is a courtesy for content that is already allowed — it does not widen what you may post. Using it to smuggle prohibited content through is a breach of these terms, and content in the Zero tolerance list is not permitted whether it is marked or not.
Please be realistic about sharing: once another person can see something, they can screenshot it, save it or describe it, and we cannot control what they do next. Only share what you are content for another person to have seen.
We may remove a shared photo or a caption, stop an individual account from sharing, or switch sharing off entirely for everyone, at any time and without notice, if we think it is necessary to keep people safe.
If you turn them on, we may send notifications such as streak reminders and challenge activity. You choose which kinds you receive in Settings → Notifications and can turn them off entirely at any time, on any device. Delivery depends on your browser, device and operating system, and we can’t guarantee a notification will arrive or arrive on time — so please don’t rely on them alone to keep a streak going.
The app includes a catalogue of commercially available miniature paints so it can suggest the nearest match to a colour. Paint names, ranges and brands are the trademarks of their respective manufacturers and are used purely so you can identify products — we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any paint manufacturer, games publisher or miniature company.
Colour matches are a guide, not a guarantee. They are calculated from published or digital colour values rather than physical measurements, and how a paint actually looks depends on the colour of your screen, your undercoat, thinning, lighting and the number of coats. Always check a paint yourself before buying or committing to a scheme — we aren’t responsible for paints bought on the strength of a suggested match.
You can report a user, or report an individual photo, from within the app, and you can block anyone. Blocking hides you from each other and ends any friendship between you, so a blocked person can no longer see anything you have shared.
We read every report. We aim to action reports within 72 hours, and the same day for anything that looks like illegal content or a threat to someone’s safety. Acting on a report can mean removing a photo, clearing a caption, suspending an account, or banning it permanently. We won’t always be able to tell you what we did about a report, because the outcome concerns somebody else’s account.
If you think we have got a decision about your own account wrong, email [email protected] and we will look at it again. A ban for anything in the Zero tolerance list is final.
Where we believe content is illegal — in particular any content that sexually exploits a child — we will report it to the appropriate authority, such as the Internet Watch Foundation or the police, and we will preserve the related account records so that they can act on it. We may do this without notifying the account holder, and we will suspend the account. We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
We may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms, including issuing temporary or permanent bans, and we may do so without notice where the breach is serious. We may also remove individual content — a photo, a caption — without suspending the account, where that is the proportionate response.
Content we remove won’t be restored, and we can’t return copies of content removed for breaching these terms. Records we keep for safety and abuse-prevention reasons may outlive the account itself; our Privacy Policy explains that carve-out.
PaintStreak is provided without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fletcher Digital Ltd is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
The mobile apps are free and supported by advertising. Any in-app purchases (such as a future option to remove ads) are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to its courts.
